Disney Lorcana Gateway is a brand new product due for release on August 9, 2024 and it will include everything that a new player will need to pick up the game of Lorcana. Here is everything it contains!
Gateway includes:
- 2 Starting Decks (30 cards each)
- 4 Reward Packs (18 cards each)
- 30 Damage Counters
- 2 Character Movers
- 2 Character Bases
- 1 Game Board
- 1 Rulebook
- 1 Guidebook
- 2 Deck Tips Pamphlets
The Disney Lorcana Gateway functions as a tutorial for new players to try out the game, guided by the guide book. Looking at the “Do Not Shuffle” tag on the cards (shown above), it is likely that the guidebook will do a “teaching” game where the new players will be guided through how to play each and every card in order of the cards drawn.
After completing their first games, the 2 players trying out Gateway will be able to use the reward packs to upgrade their decks. Through this process, both players will be able to form 2 complete 60 card decks, while guided by the deck tips pamphlets on how they could upgrade their decks.
Based on past information, the Lorcana Gateway will include cards from set 1 up till set 4, and there will be no cards unique to this products as it targets beginners specifically. This looks like a great product to gift for the holidays to potential brand new illumineers, or for card stores to stock as a way to let players new to Lorcana try it out on their own to pick up Lorcana.
