World Championship
The Disney Lorcana competitive circuit will begin in May 2024 for North America and Europe!
Regional-level tournaments called Disney Lorcana Challenges will be held, where the top four players will earn invites to the North American or European Championship events which will be held in Q4 2024. Aside from the Disney Lorcana Challenge, there will be other opportunities to qualify at the event.
The top players from these Championship events then earn invites to the World Championship 2025 slated for early 2025!
The Disney Lorcana World Championship event will be invite-only, though there will be events open to other players at the event. More details including schedules, prizes, registrations and rules will come in March 2024!
Set Championship
In the meantime, there will be new competitive events for players locally, starting off with the Into the Inklands Championships, named after the third set which is releasing in February.
Select Disney Lorcana TCG Organized Play – approved locations will be able to host an Into the Inklands Championship event, with a unique Enchanted Stitch – Rock Star promo card being given as a prize to the top 4 players at the event. The top 2 players will also receive a playmat featuring the same card!
More details for how retailers can host an Into the Inklands Championship will be released in February 2024, while the events are expected to roll out in April 2024.
Disney Lorcana Gateway
To help new players get into the game, a brand new product named Disney Lorcana TCG Gateway will be released this coming August!
The set will include the following:
- Two 30 card basic Disney Lorcana TCG decks
- A two-player game board with Disney character standees
- Rules & player guides
- Additional cards for the players to create two complete 60 card decks
Disney Lorcana Gateway will function as a tutorial for the players as they play through the provided instructions until they have built two complete Lorcana decks with a good idea of how to play with each card type.
Disney Lorcana Gateway is marketed for everyone ages eight and older, and will start retail on August 9, 2024 at $24.99 USD or £22.99.
Future Release Dates
The names of the next 3 sets after Into the Inklands have not been revealed yet but their release dates have been confirmed as follows,
- Set 4: May 17, 2024 / May 31, 2024
- Set 5: August 9, 2024 / August 23, 2024
- Set 6: November 15, 2024 / November 29, 2024
As before, the 2 release dates indicate the initial release at LGS, followed by the mass retail release at big box stores 2 weeks later.
