Organised Play Specialist – Tournament Center, has just been confirmed to help run organised play for Disney Lorcana!
In this latest Toy World article, Ravensburger UK & Ireland MD Richard Collins announced that Ravensburger is collaborating with organised play specialist Tournament Center to offer fans League play from launch (Presumably for the EU region).
Tournament Center is a gaming and esports agency with an extensive network, expert knowledge and a motivated team of gaming enthusiasts with over 20 years of gaming and live event experience. The agency already works on other major organised play events including the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship and Pokémon Europe International Championships. Tournament Center also helped to run the Lorcana booth in the previous London Toy Fair.
Applications for the Hobby Store Program is currently open and will close 8pm BST this Friday, so all interested LGS are encouraged to complete their applications by then.
Tournament Center will both advise Ravensburger on which stores offer the best organised play proposition, and help chosen stores prepare for League events.
In addition, the article also states that Asmodee has been appointed to support the distribution of the Disney Lorcana trading card game to the LGS on August 18 onwards.
“As far as I know, it is very rare for a trading card game to actually launch with an organised play programme in place,” adds Richard. “Ravensburger will be one of the few to have done so. For us, it’s all about forming collaborations with experts in their fields – such as Asmodee and Tournament Center – and creating a community where players can come together and celebrate their love of Disney Lorcana with likeminded new friends.”
