More details are here for the PAX Unplugged convention, including a brand new format for large scale events!
PAX Unplugged begins this weekend on December 1 ~ 3 in Philadelphia and we got new details for the event!
According to TheGamer, there will be a brand new “Willpower League” format which has been created specially for large scale events such as conventions, though the format can be scaled down to LGS scale if necessary. Currently there are only 3 formats in Lorcana, including Core Constructed, Booster Draft and Sealed Deck, with Willpower League being the 4th format added to the game.
Details are currently scarce on the Willpower League format but it is described as a King of the Hill style event, where players will have to win games to “hold [your] seat during the event to win prizes”.
Richelle, Global Community Manager for Disney Lorcana shared further that there will be designated “Willpower” seats that are filled on a first come first serve basis, with other seats as a waiting area trying to get into a Willpower seat. When a player is in a Willpower seat, games played can earn achievement for prizes. Players who win get to keep playing in that seat, while players who lose will put them back in the waiting area.
Furthermore, players holding a Willpower seat at the end of the event will get prizing, even if it is a player who manage to snatch up a Willpower seat at the very end.
The Willpower League will be held on Saturday (December 2) at 2.30pm and there will be no signups for the event.
Aside from the Willpower League event, free open play areas for Lorcana will be available throughout the event. Ravensburger will also have Rise of the Floodborn products and accessories on sale, though this does not include the latest Disney 100 Collector’s Set. The First Chapter will not be available for sale.
The Ravensburger booth is located at booth 2414, and by spending at least $25 at the booth, or participating in any of the Lorcana events held in Hall C, visitors will be able to earn one of the three Rise of the Floodborn convention promotional cards, including Pinocchio – Talkative Puppet, Rapunzel – Gifted Artist or Four Dozen Eggs.
To obtain all 3 promotional cards, visitors must play in the different events over multiple days. On the PAX Unplugged site, the event schedule currently only lists a Starter Deck tournament on December 1, a Constructed Deck Tournament on December 2, and an Open Play event on December 3, and does not list the Willpower League.
However on the Constructed Deck Tournament info, it lists the following details which looks to be referring the the Willpower League.
All registrants for this event who are cut in the first or second half may participate in a bonus optional community event that will run during the second half while the Top 8 play, so you may plan on attending this event from 2:30-5:30pm! (It includes prizes!)
TheGamer also mentions a Casual Play event which is based on a first-come-first-serve basis and available at the following times.

- 4.30 – 5.30 PM
- 5.45 – 6.45 PM
- Sunday (December 3)
- 1.30 – 2.30 PM*
- 2.45 – 3.45 PM
- 4-5.30 PM
* The time for the Casual Play event from 1.30 – 2.30 PM coincides with the Open Play event listed on the event schedule, so we believe it is the same event.
Take note that PAX Unplugged attendees will only be able to shop once at the Ravensburger booth, with a stamp to their ticket. Purchases will also be limited to 1 booster box (24 packs), 1 of each starter deck, and 1 playmat, sleeves and deckbox design from Rise of the Floodborn.
