These changes are effective starting October 31, 2025.
Most of the changes are in the Conditions section, featuring new definitions for In Play, Faceup, Facedown, Drying, and Dry.
Here’s a quick summary of each!
- In Play
- If a card is under another card in the play zone, it is not considered in play
- Faceup
- A card with the backside facing down, and the frontside facing up. Players can look at faceup cards anytime, even if they are under another card.
- Facedown
- A card with the backside facing up, and the frontside facing down. Players cannot look at facedown cards.
- Drying
- Characters that entered play during the players turn and cannot quest or exert.
- Dry
- Characters that were in play at the start of the player’s turn are considered dry and can quest and exert.
Upright cards are known as readied cards. Characters and items enter play ready.
