Release Schedule

Screenshot

Following The First Chapter’s release in January 2025, Rise of the Floodborn is due to release in March 2025, and Into the Inklands released in May 2025!

Releases wise, it looks like they will only focus on boosters, starter decks, sleeves and playmats. There is no mention of Gift Sets or Troves for the Japan release.

New sets will be releases approximately every 2 months, with plans to have a combined release with the English version in the future!

Promos

Screenshot

Japan is of course getting the organized play kit! Contents wise, they look to be the exact same as the English OP kit for The First Chapter.

Also starting from 6 December 2024, the Moana – Adventurer of Land and Sea Japanese promo card will be given out to viewers for Moana 2 in limited cinemas in Japan!

1 main interesting note here, the last point notes that this is a promo card for a card in a future set and that this card will not be legal for official play in stores and events until that set (Presumably set 7) is released. Based on Japan’s release date, that means this card will only be legal for play around January 2026.

Japan Launch Events

To accompany the launch, a series of events will be held!

Store tutorial events, to be held in stores all across Japan

A casual gameplay event which also encourages new players to participate

A large scale event is also planned for the Japanese launch for Disney Lorcana!

The event will include tutorial and casual gameplay events. Here are the details!

Date: 26 January 2025
Venue: Sunshine City (Ikebukuro), Hall A-1

More details will be announced at a later date

Note: There is a Disney store in Sunshine City itself, which might make it one of the key reasons it was picked for the event

Overall the Japan release looks exciting, with lots of activities for Japan Illumineers!

Furthermore, many players have been waiting for the Japan release, hoping to get a Japanese version of their favorite cards. Will you be ordering some Japanese products?

    • Based on past information, foreign language sets will be legal for play in other regions. This was announced before they announced a Japan release, but I’m currently assuming it will be the same
