Japanese Lorcana Localised Commercial Released

Just a couple of weeks left to the big release for Disney Lorcana in Japan, and they are going off with a localised commercial filled with Japanese puns!

The Japanese Disney Lorcana YouTube channel just updated a new commercial, check it out here!

There are 2 variations to the commercial, with a 30 second version and a shorted 15 second version.

Sharp eared Illumineers will notice that the commercial is filled with the phrase “kana?”, which in Japanese can be added on to phrases / sentences to loosely mean “I wonder?”. Throughout the commercial, the 2 actors ask lots of questions such as “I wonder if it is here?”, “I wonder if it is a rare card?”, I wonder if it is from the movie?”. All the lines are of course Japanese puns, referring to the name of the game, Lorcana!

Side note: I guess that also means Lorcana in the Japanese context can be Lore-kana, to mean “I wonder about the lore?”

Overall a very fun wordplay and cute Japanese style commercial and great for introducing Disney Lorcana to the Japan audience.

In addition, there are some videos such as a behind the scenes video and an interview of the 2 actors that you can check out on the Japanese Lorcana YouTube channel if you are interested.

Other campaigns have also started for Japan’s Disney Lorcana launch!

For example, by purchasing any of The First Chapter products shown above, you can receive 5 days free of Disney Plus (only applicable to new subscribers)

And a campaign is also going on X (Twitter), where lucky winners from Japan can win 3 booster packs. 100 lucky winners just need to follow the Japanese Disney Lorcana X account (@DisneyLOR_JP) and repost the pinned post for a chance to win.
