The Tokyo Toy Show is going on this weekend and Disney Lorcana fans in the land of the rising sun now finally know when Lorcana will be arriving on Japanese shores!

Lorcana (Now also known as ロルカナ) was a part of the Tokyo Toy Show with a booth to showcase everything from The First Chapter, but now in Japanese!
On the Tokyo Toy Show stage floor, an exciting announcement was made on Thursday (Jun 29), by Takara Tomy, confirming that Disney Lorcana Takara Tomy will be the official distributor for the Japanese version which gets its first release in January 2025!
Representatives from Takara Tomy (Left), Ravensburger (Right) and 2 Disney Lorcana ambassadors 千葉雄大さん and 飯豊まりえさん (middle) were on stage doing the press announcement.
Off stage, lovely goodies were being handed out, with the Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor pin that everyone is familiar with, along with the first Japanese promo card featuring Mickey Mouse – True Friend!
According to Takara Tomy’s twitter, the Mickey Mouse promo card will be available at the entrance of the Takara Tomy booth throughout the Tokyo Toy Show.
Ravensburger’s Game Design Manager and co-designer Steve Warner is also confirmed to be on site! He will be there all the way till the Tokyo Toy Show ends this Sunday so if you happen to be in Tokyo (Which I am very lucky to be in), make your way down!
Steve Warner autographs appear to be possible, probably only to those who ask nicely enough!
The First Chapter’s release in Japan is planned to kick start with a slimmed down product offering, including The First Chapter boosters, the same starter decks and accessories. Notice anything interesting about that booster box?
According to the product details, The First Chapter will similarly have 204 card types in Japanese, but each booster pack will only contain 6 cards! Each pack will be priced at 330 yen (Approximately $2.25 USD at time of post).
The 3 starter decks will still contain 60 cards (no details mentioned about the included booster pack) and priced at 2,178 yen (Approximately $14.90 USD at time of post).
The products will be available from January 2025, and aside from the various retail outlets will also be available on the Takara Tomy official shopping site, Takara Tomy Mall.
