Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands & New Cards Announced

DuckTales, TaleSpin are confirmed for the next Disney Lorcana set, along with a brand new card type, Locations!!

The next set for Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands has been confirmed for release in retail stores on March 8, 2024! As before, Into the Inklands will be released earlier in LGS earlier 2 weeks earlier on February 23, 2024, 2 weeks earlier.

This next set will include 2 starter decks, an Illumineer’s Trove, a Gift Set and your standard booster packs. Accessories wise, we get 2 designs each for deck boxes, sleeves and playmats, along with a currently unconfirmed amount of portfolio folder designs.

The 2 Starter Decks for Into the Inklands are Amber / Emerald and Ruby / Sapphire. The Amber / Emerald Starter Decks have Pongo and Peter Pan featured on the cover, while Ruby / Sapphire have Moana and Scrooge featured.

The booster packs also feature artwork of Jafar, Piglet and Mickey Mouse, while Tinker Bell and Pongo are featured on the booster box.

New Cards

Over 200 new cards are confirmed for Into the Inklands. Aside from the new artwork adorning the product packaging and accessories, new characters are also confirmed including Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales and Kit from TaleSpin.

Jim Hawkins and the crew from Treasure Planet will also been confirmed to finally make their debut in Disney Lorcana for the first time, along with Disney’s Pluto and 101 Dalmatian’s Perdita.

Into the Inklands will also feature a brand new card type, Location cards! Your team of glimmers will now be able to visit famous locations, including Maleficent’s Castle (shown above), Motunui from Moana and the Jolly Roger from Peter Pan. Currently we only have Forbidden Mountain – Maleficent’s Castle revealed.

Ravensburger has stated that each location will work differently, with some having bonuses just for being in play, while others will require your characters to move to these locations.

The location cards appear to have willpower and lore, along with a never before seen icon though currently no further details are available.

3 brand new cards have been revealed for Disney Lorcana, including Minnie Mouse – Funky Spelunker, Piglet – Pooh Pirate Captain and Peter Pan – Lost Boy Leader, 2 of which have abilities related to the brand new Location cards. Detailed card images as follows.

The Illumineers needed someone to find a missing spellbook, and Peter was the first to volunteer.

Story

Into the Inklands will dive deeper into the story of Disney Lorcana, with in-game “mini-stories”. The press release for Into the Inklands mention that the Illumineers who unleashed the inkflood must now head into the Inklands to gather the scattered treasure lore.

Upon exiting the Great Illuminary, our Illumineers discover an “as an ominous shadow storm has been spotted gathering at the edges of Lorcana, adding urgency and mystery to the path ahead”.

  1. Ok, the release of new cards is going way to quick for me. I cant even test and play with the cards from the 1st and 2nd chapter and we already are getting new cards, that will affect the game play in a hard way. Its getting als way to expensive…… Not a fan… when you think, that the target public are children then it makes everything worse in my openion. Which child can give 100 of $ to keep up with this?

    • It’s for the child in all of us!
      I do agree though, its kinda a tough mindset when we just get our hands on set 2 cards but we are also looking at set 3 cards at the same time

    • it’s kind of the deal with TCG. The business model is predicated on selling more cards. Also it’s a whole quarter before these actually go on general sale. I do agree though, it’s tough on the wallet but that is more my lack of willpower! 🙂
